Hair colouring. Is it safe?

Hi there,i have this question which has preventd me from colouring my hair. I have few questions on this and hope you guys can help me.ok.here they are. 1st,is it safe? 2nd,should i really go to a salon and get it done?or can't i do it @ hme? 3rd)if i can do it,is there any particular brand that i should use? 4th) what are the shampoo and condtioner that i should use? 5th) will my hair fall aftr this?? (ok i knw,i can go 2 a salon n ask these :) anyway what do u thnk?
