Im terrified of the dentist!!!!please help :(?

I'm so scared there will be something wrong. I'm terrified I might have cavities & I'm scared to get them filled. I also have a slight gum problem with my two bottom teeth & I'm scared I did something wrong :/ I'm 16 this is the first time I've gone to the dentist since 14 because my parents haven't made me an appointment.please help :(
