Why I am not hungry after getting my wisdom teeth taken out?

You're not supposed to eat 6 hours before the surgery. My surgery took place at 4PM, so I stopped eating at 10AM. Waiting to drive to my oral surgeon's office, I had to watch TV to distract me from my hunger; my stomach was grumbling. When I got out around 5PM, I was no longer hungry. It's now 11:30 AM, and I've only eaten one apple sauce (it took me five hours to stomach it down). It's been more than 24 hours since I ate anything but the apple sauce. I've read online that most people are starving afterwords. Why aren't I?
