TRANSMISSION HELP PLEASE RESPOND!!!?

i am about to purchase an f150 sport its an 03 with 98000 miles on it. its a standard and the only problem i noticed is in third there is a slight tinging noise and when i get into fifth there is a rather loud whine. its not a grumble but a whine or a chime. the guy said that he had the throwout bearing replaced and ever ssince then it has made that noise. is this something to worry about or is there something wrong here
